A study to assess the efficacy of topical cyclosporine A 0.05% in the management of dry eye with meibomiam gland dysfunction

: Dry eye is a multifactorial disease of the tears and ocular surface that results in symptoms discomfort, visual disturbance, tear film instability with potential damage to surface. It accompanied by increased osmolarity inflammation Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) an abnormality meibomian gland blocks secretion lipids. Without sufficient lipid production, evaporate quickly causing Eye. MGD associated multiple pathological mechanisms including inflammation, microbial factors deficiencies. Topical Cyclosporine A (CsA) 0.05% calcineurin inhibitor reduces specifically inhibiting T‑cell activity, which improves dynamics. This was prospective observational study done on 100 patients at Department Ophthalmology Basaveshwar teaching general hospital, dry eyes due dysfunction.
